Venerable U Ottaranyana intends to resume construction of an elementary school in the village of the late Dr Rewata Dhamma.
CALL FOR DONATIONS – DR. REWATA DHAMMA SCHOOL
Dr. U Ottaranyana will soon be travelling to Myanmar to relaunch a project close to his heart. A few years ago, at the request of the villagers, he agreed to fund the construction of a primary school in the village of Dr. Rewata Dhamma in southern Myanmar. Dr. Rewata Dhamma was the founder and spiritual director of the Birmingham Buddhist Vihara until his death in 2004. It was also at his request that our Dhamma Group association was set up in Brussels in 1985, and he was its spiritual director until his death.
This project had already been initiated a few years ago, but heavy rainfall caused everything to flood, leaving only the foundations of the school intact. Out of gratitude to Dr Rewata Dhamma, Bhante wants to restart the project.
