Veyyavacca days

The ‘veyyavacca’ days are an opportunity to offer voluntary service to support the centre. The Pali term veyyavacca refers to tasks performed by lay people to help the Sangha. At Dhammaramsi, this involves helping to maintain the premises so that everyone can practise meditation in optimal conditions.

These days take place regularly and bring together those who wish to offer a little of their time. They are suitable for both meditators and supporters who wish to contribute to the life of the centre.

What do these days involve?
Depending on the needs of the moment, activities may include:
  • maintaining the garden;
  • preparing meals for the day and upcoming retreats;
  • tidying and maintaining the buildings;
  • preparing the centre for retreats (cleaning, shopping, stereo tests, etc.);
  • various one-off tasks (painting, wood storage, minor repairs, IT tasks, etc.).
Why participate
These days allow you to:
  • provide practical support to Dhammaramsi and the continuity of its activities;
  • deepen your practice through the gift of service, which is an integral part of the tradition;
  • meet other practitioners and create a friendly atmosphere.

Any help, even occasional, is welcome.

The veyyavacca days are usually held on Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Here is the schedule for 2026.
