Marie-Cécile Forget made her first 10-day retreats at the Buddhist Vihara in Birmingham in 1985 under the guidance of Dr. Rewata Dhamma. At his request, she founded the Brussels Dhamma Group and became its president. Thereafter, she went on retreats of one, two or three months in Myanmar, once under the guidance of Sayadaw U Janakabhivamsa, six times under that of Sayadaw U Kundalabhivamsa, four times at the Saraniya meditation centre in Manchester and eight times at the TMC – California under the guidance of Sayadaw U Thuzana. In 2003, she received the title of “kammathanacariya” (meditation teacher) from Ven. Rewata Dhamma and in 2021, the title of “Master of Arts (Hon. M.A.) in Buddhism” from Dr. U Ottaranyana.
